Autumn 2 - Changes
Below is an overview of what we will be learning about this term.
Stay and Play
Reception are truly in the Christmas spirit this week and have been incredibly busy practising for our Christmas Concert. On Monday, three cheeky elves joined us in the classroom and have been causing absolute chaos ever since!! We are sure you are all extremely busy too, preparing for Christmas with your families, however, we were delighted that so many of you were able to take time out to join us for our Christmas Stay and Play.
Maths
To extend our maths today we have been playing Snakes and Ladders, this is a great way to encourage children to subitise numbers to six and also take turns. Why not play a board game with a dice at home this weekend?
Autumn 1 - Marvellous Me
We have now completed our statutory testing and will begin to formally teach the children. For the following four weeks we will focus on four stories all relating to the children and their families. Below is an overview of what we will learn between now and half term.
Our first week in Reception
We have had an amazing first week and have been learning a lot. We know where to hand our coats and bags, where our trays are and how to sit on the carpet in our carpet spaces for register. We play sensibly in our indoor and outdoor area. We know how to go into assembly and sit like all the other children. We have been superstars at lunchtime and know exactly what to do. We have met lots of people, made lots of friends and have had a great time. Take a look at some of the things we have been doing below.
