Welcome to Mrs Reeves' and Mrs Price's Class page
Our teaching assistant is Mrs Butler.
Have a look at all of the exciting things we will be learning about this half-term.
We celebrated Safer Internet Day by learning about AI, specifically voice assistants, and how they can help us. We also talked about the problems we can encounter when using any form of AI, and thought about what we could do if we were worried about something we had seen or heard on the internet.
In our last Forest School session we braided wool to make Valentine's Day bracelets. We also took part in some pond dipping and had a yummy hot chocolate!
For our DT project this half term, we designed and made our own moving vehicles. We looked at toy cars in our classroom and found out about how an axle helps the wheels to move. We used dowel, pieces of straw and cardboard wheels to make our vehicles and then decorated them.
This week in Forest School we practised using tools safely. We used a saw to help us create our own little log dogs and wrapped wool around them to make a lead. Aren't they cute?
In Forest School this week we had our own Wassail parade. We created tree sprites and decorated the trees by wrapping them in wool. We sang a Wassail song and then used instruments to help wake up the trees.
We had an amazing first Forest School session. We used Christmas tree branches to build dens, created clay snowmen and enjoyed a lovely warm cup of hot chocolate. As you can see from our photos, we got very muddy!
In DT we have designed and created our own 1960s doll's house furniture. We tried to make sure that our furniture could stand up on its own, and some of us had to do lots of extra sticking to make sure that it was strong enough!
In Topic we have been learning about 1960s toys and games. We went outside to play some 1960s playground games like hopscotch, hula hooping and even used our coats for goalposts in a game of football!
As part of our new topic 'Animal Planet' we had a visit from Sue from Waingroves Zoo (who looks remarkably like Mrs Reeves!). We are going to be learning about different classifications of animal and how we can identify these.
